A Day In the Life of Me

Ugh.... doubley.

So, it looks as though we won't be getting the condo. Not because our offer wasn't accepted, but because we have to do an FHA loan and the complex has more than half residents being renters and they won't do an FHA loan if that is the case. How stupid is that?!?!?! Both Jay and I were in bad moods yesterday. I was really tired from making apricot syrup and leather, so that didn't help any either. I woke up with a headache this morning as well... I keep getting these and don't know why. I have increased how much water I drink and everything like that that I can think of. I'm considering going to a dr. about them. I really do not think I should be getting headaches on a daily basis. I even will drink a Dr. Pepper to see if it will help and it usually doesn't. Anyway, just thought I'd give an update on the stupid rules FHA has for buying a condo, although, I do know that since it didn't work out, then Heavenly Father has something else in store for us. It's all a matter of what He knows is best for us, not what we think we know.

More ramblings about the condo.

It is about 8 blocks from my parents' house and Kara is still about 10 minutes away. Peeeerfect, if you ask me. Well, I guess as perfect as it comes... I would love to be in the same neighborhood as my parents, but this is pretty darn close. Anyway, Jay and I were looking at Behr.com at paints last night. They have this cool thing where you can pick the paint colors and choose what kind of room you want to see it in and then you choose the wall, ceiling, trim, and accent colors. It is really really neat to be able to see what the colors will look like on a wall. It seems though that Jay likes the more neutral colors and I like the bolder (and more fun, if you ask me) colors. We will work something out, I am sure. I can hardly wait to hear if the offer is accepted. Please, please, please. :)

I took the kids over to my in-laws late this morning to pick apricots to make jam (actually, I'm going to make syrup and leather). It was great to see my mother-in-law and Grandmother as well. Grandmother sat and cooed at Madolin almost the entire time and Hyrum ran around the yard getting hot and having fun. Then he got a little muddy so my mother-in-law got the hose and sprayed him off with it... then gave it to him. He found the canoe sitting not very far away and filled it with about an inch of water. Then he climbed in a played and had a blast! Wish I would have had my camera with me... it was really super cute. He got so mad when I made him get out though. I think he will take a long nap today. At least I hope he does so I can make the syrup and leather while he is sleeping and be done by the time he wakes up.

Madolin is rolling over all of the time now. I will put her on the floor with some toys on her back and within a few minutes she is on her stomach trying to get something that was just out of reach on her back. She gets frustrated within a few minutes, so I'll go over and roll her back on her back. It is a losing battle though as she always rolls back onto her stomach pretty quickly. What a fun stage this is though! She is very grabby and interactive. Wants to be where all the action is all the time. And she's not afraid to tell you when she's not happy about being left out. LOL.

WOOHOO!

I know I haven't been updating this nearly as often as I should. I could use the excuse that I've been busy (which I have), but the reality is that I just have not been remembering or taking the time to write. Sorry. Anyway... the reason I'm so excited is.....

that we put in an offer on a condo tonight! I still can't really believe that we did it, but it is true! Gotta stop pinching myself or I'm gonna end up having bruses all over my arms. ;) I still have to get some paperwork to the lender tomorrow so that we can get the loan up and going. Anyway, what we ended up doing is offering to pay the asking price if they will pay all closing costs (which is a lot more for use since we don't have a downpayment at all). I'm thinking that it will get accepted right off the bat. This place has been on the market for 6 months, so I'm guessing the current owners are probably starting to get pretty desperate. I wish I could find a picture of it or something to post here, but I can't. Anyway. I am really excited about it. Not because it is our "dream house" or at least not yet. It needs to be repainted and the carpet needs to be replaced badly. I really like the layout of the place though. And the major bonus... it has 3 bedrooms! Most places we were looking at in our price range were only 2 bedrooms. Plus, it's got a pretty big living room/kitchen area. Something that most places didn't have as well. We will need to buy a washer (will probably just come to my parents' house to do laundry until we can get enough saved up to buy a washer of our own). I just can not tell you how excited I am about this... it is just real, ya know? Not over our heads mortgage, but something we can actually afford. I guess that's what I'm most excited about. lol. Well, I am super super excited to be owning a place of our own. Anyway, I am rambling, so I'll write more again soon... I promise!

Scrapping the day away.

Today I went over to Kara's to scrap with her. I got there around 11:00 and we fed the boys macaroni and cheese and then Kara wanted to get some fast food, but I didn't have any money, so I tried to get her to stay home. She went and bought us both Wendy's despite my efforts (okay, I really didn't try REALLY hard). Immediately after lunch we went to her scraproom and started at it! I worked on a layout I had started the day before and Kara worked on her design team stuff for Paper Posies (OMGosh! I SO need this kit, by the way!). I had to run home at 2:30 to go visit a lady in our ward at 3:00. Kara let me leave Hyrum with her so he could play with Max and Xander some more. I came back around 3:45 and started right at scrapbooking again. Between having to stop and nurse Madolin and having to break up the various brouhahas between the three boys I finished my one page. I really like it actually. I will upload it to Lifetimemoments.com's gallery here in a few if you are interested in seeing it. It was really a lot of fun to spend time with Kara and do something we both love. It seems we have each discovered a new joy for scrapbooking recently. I know I have rediscovered my style and joy of creating that I somehow lost for a while there. Anyway, it was a great day, overall!

Oh, today is also my little brother, Ty's birthday. He is 16. We all got together at 6:00 and had pizza (Ty's choice) and icecream cake (also Ty's choice). He is thrilled to finally be 16... I remember that like it was just a few days ago... and to think I'll be 22 in less than a month! EEK! That sounds OOOOLD! I like being 21! Guess even if I somehow got it to skip the day, I would still be a year older. ;)

Okay, okay, I'm updating already!

When I started this blog I thought I would probably get out of the habit, but didn't want to. I guess the nice thing about this is that people bug you to update it. LOL. Anyway... the fourth was AWESOME! It was such a fun day! Thanks to my great mom who loves being a grandma. :) We went to Walmart in the morning while my dad and Jay were shopping (for a grill that my mom didn't know about, but was sooo excited -- and I mean she squealed excited about it). We got a sprinkler head for the boys to run through and some weird HUGE bubble maker thingy. We also got some other various stuff for the barbeque that night. Kara came over around 1:00 and we let the boys play outside for a while as we got some stuff ready (mostly cleaned up and chatted). When they started looking warm we changed them into swim trunks and gave them squirt guns to play with. (We were going to turn on the sprinklers, but Kara wanted to be there to take pics of their first reactions and she was eating lunch.) Xander could do it really well and could even aim! Hyrum would haphazardly shoot it, but couldn't aim very well at all. And Max was hilarious! He had it turned around backwards and would shoot himself in the head every time! It was so funny! Especially because almost everytime he would get surprised... guess he didn't realize he was doing it himself. Then we turned on the sprinklers and boy did those boys love that! Hyrum and Max kept grabbing it so it would stop spinning, but other than that, they LOVED it! Grandma even showed them how to jump over it, which they thought was pretty cool. I think they probably played in the sprinklers for an hour! After the sprinklers, Grandma whipped out the mega huge bubble maker! I can not even explain how much the boys loved those! Ty would make the bubbles and they would chase after them trying to pop them. They really liked it when they would pop and the stuff would get on them! Xander even started squeezing his eyes shut right before he would pop them so it wouldn't get in his eyes. We then put Sing Yourself Silly from Sesame Street on for them to watch. They were all pretty tired at this point, but who wants to take a nap when you are having so much fun?!? Kara and I then went to Michaels and wandered the whole store. We checked out the new Chatterbox line that is exclusive to them (which is VERY cute, btw) and Kara got the stuff to make a cigar box purse. We spent a while figuring out what she should decorate it with. It was so fun to go without any kids though. We came home and started dinner. I cut up watermelon while the food was being grilled. We had the choice of chicken or hot dogs. Both of which were really good, by the way. We had the works! Watermelon, corn on the cob, devilled eggs, garlic bread... SO good!!! Oh, and while we were at Michaels, Hyrum fell asleep at the table while he was eating. Definitely made me laugh! I wish Jay would have gotten a picture though! Oh well. We hung out for a while and talked between dinner and fireworks. I got Kara to take some family pictures since we all got the $5 Old Navy Fourth of July t-shirts. I think we got some cute ones! We started the fireworks as soon as we could because all the kids were pretty exhausted. They loved them! They would clap after each one and Hyrum got pretty restless. He kept switching chairs and people... could not hold still for the life of him! Max fell asleep on Grandma's lap since he was exhausted from the hard play and no nap all day long. Hyrum went to sleep without any fuss and so did I! We were all tired from such a fun-filled day!

I promise to try to be better at updating my blog. I know I need to just make some time for it! Keep pestering me if it's been a few days and I haven't updating! Someone's gotta kick my rear in gear! ;)
