Delayed gratification

Maddy is getting quite the lesson (multiple times) in delayed gratification. Like, right now, I am nursing Miles (and typing one handed, thankyouverymuch) and she keeps asking (more like whining) for juice. I keep explaining to her that I can't get her any juice right now because I'm feeding Miles. To which she usually walks out of the room, turns around, comes back to me and asks for some juice. Because you know, I just might not have really understood the first two or three dozen times she asked me for some that she meant that she wants. some. JUICE! Oh, and once or twice she threw in that she would like some rice too. OKAAAAY? Finally, she will get distracted by something else. This particular time it was bringing me her toothbrush and the spongebob toothpaste for me to prep for her so she can suck the toothpaste off and then chew on the bristles of the toothbrush. That's really how you get your teeth clean, in case you didn't know. Anyway, I guess this is the Lord's way of answering my prayers to have patience because I have certainly had to have it in order to keep my sanity mostly intact!

Our little monkey...

Ok, so you totally can not tell that his hat is actually a monkey face, but it is! I promise! I took that picture about a half hour ago while the big kids were playing in the sandbox (and Hyrum asked me for a jar for a worm he found so he could bring it inside so "no birds can eat him"). Thankfully no worms are in my house and I got a couple cute pictures of Miles while I was at it. Here's my other favorite one with no hat...
He is 2 1/2 weeks old! Seems like he has changed so much in such a short amount of time. Why do they do that to us???

Unadventures with 3 kids.

So, I ventured out to the store today for the first time by myself with all three kids. I was a bit worried that the older two would make it difficult, but they were perfectly behaved. I'm not sure if it was the promise of balloons, or that it was right at Maddy's nap time, so she was super mellow, or that they had samples throughout the store that the kids loved getting to eat. Anyway, it was just much less eventful than I thought it would be. Having three kids is easier than I imagined! lol.
