A Day In the Life of Me

Guess who's four!

Yep! I can hardly believe that Maddy is four years old today! She seemed confused when I talked to her about it after work (and, yes, we have been talking about this coming for WEEKS!). I guess since we aren't have her party until tomorrow that it doesn't count yet. Whenever I asked her what she wanted for her birthday she just would say, "a car" and that was it. You would think she'd want something a little more girly... or know that she's gotta wait another 12 years, at least, before she starts asking for a car.

So, I just want to take a minute here and say how blessed I feel to have Maddy as my daughter. I know it's a bit cheesey and cliche, but it's so true. I love that she has an opinion about EVERYTHING (yes, I even appreciate that when it is frustrating to me). I love that she loves pink. I love that she can hold her own among all the boys in the family. I love how smart she is and the way she tells me "remember, mom" when I forget something she hasn't. I love how excited she gets when I make her something girly (lately I've been sewing and crocheting-plus I made that flower clip she's wearing) and tells me she loves it and thanks me without any prompting - just because she is grateful. I love how Hyrum is her best friend and how she baby talks to Miles. I love how she excitedly yells "DADDY!" whenever Jay walks through the door. I love her hugs and kisses and then blowing kisses to me whenever I leave. I think I could go on and on about the things I love about Maddy, but I will stop here and suffice it to say that I love my Maddy-girl.

You have so many children! Hard to believe that there is only one girl in the bundle of boys you have (are having). Impressive that she can hold her own. Does that mean she knows how to say no to all of those brothers!?
